OkayAfrica.com - Roye Okupe on Chasing Dreams

The venerable Schomburg Center in Harlem, a library, research institute, educational venue and historic landmark held their 5th Annual Black Comicbook Festival and I was on hand as a producer for OkayAfrica.com to hear from creators and fans alike, why this event is so special.

 

I interviewed dozens of fans of comics, graphic novels and literature in general, as well as several creators.

One of those creators was Nigerian artist & entrepreneur Roye Okupe who decided to fill the missing space of homegrown comic creations with his character E.X.O., and he didn't stop there.
